Popular Menu Items
Let’s begin with the steaks, since when a restaurant plans to carry “steak” as their title, it’s going to be excellent. They certainly are. They have 3 cuts of USDA Choice aged beef cooked to your preference. It’s possible to have a meal which comes with garlic bread as well as your choice of sides. There are also steak sandwiches available consisting of sirloin slices cut to order, and filled with toppings.
It is worth noting that the Lube is also very pleased with its wings. they serve more than 30 million people a year! They’re bone-in, jumbo and have 21 distinct sauces, such as Cajun or coated chipotle BBQ. In all their flavors, they love watching their customers eat the Atomic wings, which are the most hot wings they have available. It’s valued at 500,999 in Scoville which is more than 50 times hotter than the jalapeno. Be careful!
Quaker Steak and Lube also offers a variety of other choices to satisfy everyone’s needs such as Chicken tenders, burgers, to desserts and salads. Their goal is to ensure that you leave “completely refreshed and recharged,” and their menu offers a wide array of options to pick from that there’s no way to leave hungry.
Here are some of the most popular items on sale at Quaker Steak and Lube:
Thunderbird Steak
This is, without doubt, The Lube’s most loved steak. It’s an 8-ounce center-cut top sirloin that has been aged for 28 days, then grilled to your desired temp (medium can be a good option!). It’s possible to choose soup or salad as a side dish and choose from the 13 “sidecars,” which include potatoes, broccoli, mac and cheese, rice, and black beans.
Lubeburger
Staying with the steak-themed idea, why not opt for a massive steak hamburger? The 1/2-pound “Lube Legend” is smothered in bacon, sauteed mushrooms and bacon hot sauce, American cheese. It’s served with a bleu cheese dip served on the side. The food will be cooked according to your preference whether you prefer pink or not pink. Serve it alongside onion rings to make an excellent dinner.
Crispy Pork Belly Tacos
Pork belly is akin to bacon, but it’s better. The Lube is celebrating “street food” by serving two corn tortillas stuffed with tender pork belly and jalapeno lime slaw salsa, and creamy lime-cilantro. Yum!
Quaker Steak and Lube’s History
In 1974 there was a gasoline shortage within the United States. The price of gasoline increased and many were forced to abandon buying fuel completely. This resulted in lots of gas stations closing down operations.
The founders George Warren III and Gary Meszaros were determined to preserve the history of the gas stations of America They decided to open an eatery that emphasized automobiles. The restaurant was initially a “cook the steak you want to cook” establishment, the initial Quaker Steak showcased old muscle automobiles and even featured the 1936 Chevrolet on the initial hydraulic rack.
