Ruth's Chris Menu Prices. Ruth's Chris is a popular steakhouse chain in the United States. The restaurant focuses on steakhouse meals and lunch options.

Ruth Chris Menu: Steakhouse is an American restaurant established in 1965. Ruth Fertel, the founder of the company, operated the first restaurant for a time following a fire in the kitchen that destroyed the establishment.

Ruth was forced to move her business, as she expanded the existing structure. Within a matter of ten days, she opened the restaurant, however, she was unable to use an alternative brand name to the establishment that was later renamed Chris Steak House.

Ruth was then able to decide to put her name on Chris Steak House, which is why Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse came to be. The Ruth Chris Menu’s first location of the restaurant was located in New Orleans, Louisiana, it has since expanded to include over 100 Ruth’s Steakhouses across the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, and Taiwan.

Ruth Chris History

The first Chris Steak House was founded in 1927 by Chris Matulich in New Orleans. It was a tiny restaurant and was not equipped with parking. Matulich was the manager of this steakhouse for over 38 years, and under his leadership, the restaurant was sold six times.

The year 1965 was the time Ruth Fertel as a widowed mother trying to raise her sons in their teens, purchased the steakhouse from Matulich thus the name Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Based on Fertel the true reason for its success lies in her family’s recipes.

Fertel was hands-on in her restaurant; she was the one to shop and then butcher herself. Being a single mother of her own Fertel believed single moms were resilient and hardworking For a number of years the restaurant was run by a female-only crew.

in 2002 Fertel passed away from lung cancer, and Ruth’s Chris was sold to Madison Dearborn Partners. More than 50 years since it was first established, Ruth’s Chris is still growing rapidly and is expanding internationally.

What They’re Famous For?

Ruth’s Chris serves USDA prime steaks cooked in their own unique way perfect seared at 982 degrees Celsius and served on a ceramic plate that is heated to 260 degrees Celsius. Below are the Ruth’s Chris steak options:
